Why Didn't I Earn Cash Back on My Purchase?
There are a few reasons why your purchase wouldn’t be eligible for 10% Cash Back:
- Your purchase wasn't completed in the new browser tab.
When you click to visit a store on ShopSmarter, the store’s website will open as a new tab in your browser. To successfully earn Cash Back, you must shop and complete your purchase in the new tab that opens. Otherwise, we won’t be able to track your purchase or offer you Cash Back.
This can also happen if you type a different URL into the new browser tab, or if you use the new tab to shop multiple sites without returning to ShopSmarter between each visit.
- Your purchase was returned to the store.
If you return a purchase made through ShopSmarter, you’ll no longer be eligible for Cash Back on that purchase. Once the store processes your return, we’ll receive notification that your purchase is no longer active.
- You chose to pick up your purchase in-store.
Not all stores on ShopSmarter are eligible for Cash Back on in-store pickups. Be sure to check for the “In-Store Pickup” icon on the store page before clicking through to make your purchase. Visit our Buy Online, Pickup In-Store page for more information.
- The store you shopped at has Cash Back Restrictions.
Some stores have certain restrictions that prevent us from offering 10% Cash Back. Be sure to check the store page for any Cash Back restrictions before clicking through to the store’s website.
- You used an external browser extension or coupon.
Using external browser extensions and coupons from other shopping programs interferes with our Cash Back process. To earn 10% Cash Back on your purchase, avoid using external discounts from other programs alongside ShopSmarter.
- You purchased an Apple product.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer Cash Back on Apple products purchased from any store on ShopSmarter.
For more information on why your purchase was not eligible for 10% Cash Back, please refer to our Terms of Service.
